POSITION SUMMARY
Keeps a complete and systematic set of records and ledger accounts to record financial transactions and show the financial status of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares and maintains accurate financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices and prepares monthly financial statements.
- Reconciles assets to the staking sheet, reports estimate to actual cost differences on work orders to maintain accurate records.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate material inventory, asset management and fleet records.
- Maintains assigned journals and reconciles bank accounts monthly.
- Enters and pays accounts payable and credit card invoices.
- Reviews budget analysis, makes appropriate journal entries, circulates budget reports to department heads and assists in research issues.
- Invoices consumer charges, balances receivables and handles collections for these accounts.
- Works with outside contractors to order parts for ETS units and invoices associated materials.
- Generates invoices for accounts receivable, handles rebate processing, and reconciles subsidiary accounts.
- Prepares reports for the Department of Energy, Colorado sales and use tax, property tax and heavy use tax as required.
- Tracks and orders office supplies.
- Assists in budgeting and forecasting processes.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- Four years accounting experience preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and procedures.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
- Must possess computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Must possess good aptitude for computerized accounting systems, attention to detail and time management.
- Must adhere to the Cooperative’s safety manual, policies, procedures, service rules and regulations.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with consumers and coworkers.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Duties are performed inside and outside in inclement weather.
- Irregular hours include nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
- Must be able to perform duties as stated above.
- Activities are performed driving, sitting, kneeling, standing, and walking.
