POSITION SUMMARY

Manages the physical and logical design and operation of all service provider network devices including switches, routers, firewalls and servers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Designs, implements and manages local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).

Installs and configures network equipment including routers, switches and firewalls.

Configures virtual local area networks (VLAN).

Troubleshoots network hardware and software problems.

Responsible for maintaining network security and adhering to all related regulations.

Ensure all required backups are completed and maintained.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.

Coordinate response to after-hours outages and other trouble calls on a rotational basis.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Associates Degree in Computer Science is required, Bachelor of Science preferred.

Five years of network operations experience.

Possess Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) certification.

Possess Cisco Certified Network Professional Service Provider (CCNP SP) certification.

Possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado Driver’s License.

Ability to operate computers, communication equipment and standard office equipment.

Strong interpersonal skills

Analytical and written/verbal communications skills and a proven ability to guide others and coordinate/manage tasks are essential.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Majority of activities are performed inside.

Irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Travel outside the system may be required.

Must be able to perform the activities listed in the position description.

Activities are performed driving, sitting and walking.
