POSITION SUMMARY

Perform safe and skilled construction, maintenance and repair of electric and telecommunications utility infrastructure by following all approved industry standards. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Field Operations: Perform safe construction, maintenance and repair of lines and infrastructure for the distribution system, sub-transmission system and telecommunication system. This includes cable locating and tree-trimming as needed. 
2. Administrative Accuracy: Perform job briefings, vehicle inspections, outage reports, GIS updates, material sheets, and other job forms and administrative tasks as requested.
3. Care for Equipment: Maintain equipment, vehicles, tools, materials, and other items as requested.
4. Emergency Response: Be “On Call” and respond to utility outages, trouble calls, or other member services as requested.
5. Training & Team Development: Complete education and training to maintain qualified worker requirements and personal growth and development.  Assist in training and mentoring apprentice linemen.
6. Safety/Compliance: Comply with Cooperative safety manual, policies, procedures, labor agreement, industry codes, and regulations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. 
2. Must have a valid journeyman lineman certification.
3. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Colorado Commercial Class A Driver’s License (CDL).
4. Must have a valid CPR/First Aid certification. 
5. Must have strong interpersonal behavior skills and communicate clearly with coworkers and members.
6. Must be able to operate computers, communication equipment, and standard office equipment.
7. Must be able to work outside during all weather conditions and terrain on a regular and “On-Call” basis, in a safe and productive manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Majority of activities are performed outside in all kinds of weather.
2. Irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
3. Travel outside the system may be required.
4. Activities performed are driving, sitting, and walking, working at various heights above the ground both off the pole and from aerial devices.
