POSITION SUMMARY

Maintains a complete, well‑organized system of financial records and ledgers that accurately captures all transactions and reflects the company’s financial position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Financial Reporting & Recordkeeping – Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and prepares monthly financial statements.
2. Reconciliation & Analysis – Reconciles assets, bank accounts, staking sheets, and subsidiary accounts; analyzes estimate-to-actual cost variances and budget performance.
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management – Processes invoices, credit cards, consumer charges, rebates, and collections; generates and balances AR/AP accounts.
4. Inventory & Asset Management – Maintain material inventory, asset management, and fleet records.
5. Regulatory & Tax Compliance – Prepares required reports for the Department of Energy and manages sales, use, property, and heavy use tax filings.
6. Vendor & Contractor Coordination – Works with outside contractors to order parts and manage related invoicing.
7. Administrative Support – Tracks and orders office supplies.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
2. Four years’ accounting experience is preferred.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and procedures.
4. Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills that contribute to a supportive team environment and encourage growth and development.   
5. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado Driver’s License. 
6. Must possess computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
7. Must possess good aptitude for computerized accounting systems, attention to detail and time management.
8. Must adhere to the Cooperative’s safety manual, policies, procedures, service rules and regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Duties are performed inside and outside in inclement weather.
2. Irregular hours include nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
3. Must be able to perform duties as stated above.
4. Activities are performed driving, sitting, kneeling, standing, and walking.
