Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Electrical system monitoring and control (SCADA) to maintain quality and stability standards.
- Dispatch
- Emergency response, member requests, field crew unplanned work
- Field crew work prioritizing, scheduling and dispatching.
- Create and Manage switching order and lockout-tagout processes.
- Monitors field crew location, acknowledges and communicates hazards
- Report and coordination with first responders, energy providers, and REC managers.
- Operations department support: UNCC, notifications, SCADA operation, internal and external coordination (customer notifications, substation, transmission supplier etc), vehicle tracking reporting, scheduled outages and switching plans, AMI reporting.
- Security monitoring of office and substation facilities.
- Electrical system data analytics, outage reporting and follow-up.
- Ability to use and administer (as assigned) SCADA, fleet tracking, job tracking, outage management, advanced meter infrastructure, and GIS mapping software systems.
- Performs stand-by duty on a rotational basis coordinating after-hours emergency callouts.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Education: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) associate’s degree, or journeyman lineman certification, or submit to taking the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) System Operator/Power Dispatcher (SOPD) pre-employment test.
- Minimum Experience: 5 years’ work experience, preferably in electrical systems.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills with high accuracy.
- Demonstrate ability to operate computers, communication equipment, and standard office equipment.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
- Comply with cooperative policies and procedures.
JOB TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Must successfully pass company provided Penn Foster Apprenticeship training course within 24 months of employment.
- Must successfully pass cooperative provided Incident Command Certification training course within 36 months.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Most duties are performed inside at a desk sitting, and otherwise standing, walking, or driving as needed.
- Approximately 95% of time is spent indoors
- Approximately 25% of time is spent talking to people over the telephone or radio.
- Four 10-hour workdays Monday through Thursday, and as otherwise requested.
- Occasional travel may be required.
