POSITION SUMMARY

Complete all underground power cable and fiber cable locates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate with area serviceman on locates that require accessing live power facilities.
2. Must be able to interpret and read color coded paper and electronic maps.
3. Work with mapping personnel to maintain accurate maps and correct errors as necessary. 
4. Operate GPS enabled locate equipment.
5. Complete utility locates necessary for CDOT permits, etc.
6. Coordinates "pot holing" for Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) surveying and engineering projects.
7. Works with staking engineers to prepare SUE compliant permits along public ROW's.
8. Coordinate directly with city and county utility departments on large locate projects.
9. Coordinate directly with internal and external contractors on large construction projects. 
10. May assist with internet/phone installations, troubleshooting and standby coverage when proficient with these duties.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
2. 5 years’ experience with locating underground utilities preferred.
3. Basic understanding of electrical theory preferred.
4. Must be able to pass the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) background check.
5. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado Driver’s License. 
6. Must possess computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
7. Must possess good aptitude for attention to detail with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
8. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with consumers and coworkers.
9. Must adhere to the Cooperative’s safety manual, policies, procedures, service rules and regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Duties are performed inside and outside in inclement weather.
2. Irregular hours include nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
3. Some work may be performed working in attics and crawl spaces as well as rooftops.
4. Must be able to perform duties as stated above.
5. Activities are performed driving, sitting, kneeling, standing, and walking. May work above the ground and from aerial devices.
