Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Complete all underground power cable and fiber cable locates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with area serviceman on locates that require accessing live power facilities.
- Must be able to interpret and read color coded paper and electronic maps.
- Work with mapping personnel to maintain accurate maps and correct errors as necessary.
- Operate GPS enabled locate equipment.
- Complete utility locates necessary for CDOT permits, etc.
- Coordinates "pot holing" for Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) surveying and engineering projects.
- Works with staking engineers to prepare SUE compliant permits along public ROW's.
- Coordinate directly with city and county utility departments on large locate projects.
- Coordinate directly with internal and external contractors on large construction projects.
- May assist with internet/phone installations, troubleshooting and standby coverage when proficient with these duties.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- 5 years’ experience with locating underground utilities preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical theory preferred.
- Must be able to pass the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) background check.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
- Must possess computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Must possess good aptitude for attention to detail with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with consumers and coworkers.
- Must adhere to the Cooperative’s safety manual, policies, procedures, service rules and regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Duties are performed inside and outside in inclement weather.
- Irregular hours include nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
- Some work may be performed working in attics and crawl spaces as well as rooftops.
- Must be able to perform duties as stated above.
- Activities are performed driving, sitting, kneeling, standing, and walking. May work above the ground and from aerial devices.
